Volunteer Leadership Programme (VLP)
The Volunteer Leadership Programme (VLP) offers dedicated and experienced volunteers the opportunity to grow as leaders within the Singapore Red Cross (SRC). Nominated by their department’s Volunteer Managers (VMs), selected participants undergo comprehensive training to acquire the necessary skills to co-lead SRC projects/programmes and manage volunteer activities effectively.
A key component of the VLP is the 4-day Fundamental Workshop, which aims to develop, nurture, and empower SRC Volunteer Leaders, helping them become engaging, situational, transformational, and servant leaders. This 100% volunteer-led initiative ensures that graduates are equipped to take on leadership roles that drive SRC programmes and inspire others through their commitment to serving humanity.
Upon completing the VLP, volunteers are appointed as Volunteer Leaders (VLs), entrusted with responsibilities such as planning events, recruiting and engaging volunteers, and mentoring future leaders. The programme aims to build a strong, sustainable leadership pool to ensure the continued success and impact of SRC’s humanitarian efforts.
Graduates receive an official appointment letter endorsed by the Secretary General, committing to a minimum of 2 years in the role (renewable based on mutual agreement). They will also enjoy benefits such as sponsorship for further training, access to VMS, a testimonial (if applicable), and the official Volunteer Leader vest.
Ready to take your volunteering to the next level or have aspirations to co-lead SRC projects and programmes? Approach the Volunteer Management Department or your Programme Manager today to learn how you can be part of this transformative, volunteer-led initiative.
